Abhishek Tandon

Dr. Abhishek Tandon is currently pursuing his DM in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur. He is a MD in Respiratory Medicine, from Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak. Early in his residency, Dr. Tandon showed attributes of a vivid researcher. He presented his thesis at the annual conference of the European Respiratory Society, held at Madrid, Spain, in the year 2019 which was eventually published in the European Respiratory Journal and the Indian Journal of Chest Diseases and Allied Sciences. Having a keen interest in Air pollution, Dr. Tandon published his correspondence on the deliterious effects of pollution in The Lancet in the same year. During his residency he published various papers in reputed, indexed national and international journals, was an attendee of all National conferences, was made the member of European Respiratory Society, Indian Chest Society and National College of Chest Physicians and went on to secure the highest marks amongst all the specialities amongst all the colleges under Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences and was awarded the Gold Medal in the Department for the year 2020. MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, Dr. Tandon was selected for Short Term Studentship by the Indian Council of Medical Research in 2012, for which he undertook a study which he presented at Leiden International Medical Students' Conference, Leiden, The Netherlands in 2015. He was subsequently selected as the Ambassador for India to LIMSC for the years 2015- 2017 and 2017-2019. Having a keen interest in extra curricular activities, he was elected as the Literary and Culture Secretary, for the Students' Council, Curofy Student Ambassador, Curofy Student Mentor, Founding and Executive board member of Manipal University Students' Research Forum and a Founding member of Volunteer Student Organisation. He represented KMC Mangalore at various National intercollege events such as Spandan, Pegasus and Pulse and won numerous accolades and was the organising secretary of Grimorie, the annual interclass event of 2014. Dr. Tandon graduated in 2017 having secured a Distinction in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Pathology, Microbiology and First Class in ENT, Ophthalmology, Social and Preventive Medicine, Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics and Obstretics and Gynaecology and was eventually elected the Fellow of Academy of General Education by Manipal University.
