Another study showed that standing or walking for a few minutes every 30 minutes can improve insulin sensitivity & lower blood sugar in adults with insulin resistance.

Broken heart syndrome: Men face twice the death risk, say researchers
A large study in the Journal of the American Heart Association found that men hospitalized with Takotsubo cardiomyopathy ("broken heart syndrome") had over twice the in-hospital death rate compared to women. Of nearly 200,000 U.S. patients studied (2016–2020), 83% were women, but mortality rate was 11.2% in men versus 5.5% in women.

A common but dangerous hospital superbug has been found capable of digesting plastic used in medical devices, posing a significant threat to patient safety globally, including in India.
The bacterium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, is responsible for up to 30% of hospital-acquired infections. Researchers at Brunel University London have discovered that P. aeruginosa, a MDR pathogen, can break down polycaprolactone (PCL) - a plastic commonly used in sutures, implants and other medical equipment.

Telangana Woman Loses Twins After Doctor's 'Video Call' Treatment
A patient who conceived with IVF after 7 years of marriage, felt severe labour pains at 4 am and was rushed to the hospital. No doctor was present at the time. Doctor over video and audio calls instructed nurses to carry out several medical procedures.
Around 10.30 am, the twins were removed from her womb. She lost a lot of blood and when doctor arrived, she didn't even check the patient and told her that babies were dead. FIR has been registered under sections of medical negligence. District Medical and Health Officer will conduct a thorough inquiry and submit our report to the police and higher authorities.

Woman Dies 4 Months After Being Administered 'Expired' Saline In Kolkata Hospital
Four months after a woman was allegedly administered expired saline at a hospital in Paschim Medinipur district rendering her critically ill, she died in a medical establishment in Kolkata on Monday, a health department official said.
Another pregnant woman, identified as Mamoni Rui Das, died allegedly following administration of "expired" Ringer's Lactate saline at the same hospital in January.
The state government suspended 12 doctors after investigating the matter.

A new 7-year study led by researchers from Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the University of Pittsburgh warns suggests, sitting for long even with regular exercise, is linked to memory decline, brain shrinkage, and increased risk for Alzheimer’s disease. Titled Increased sedentary behaviour is associated with neurodegeneration and worse cognition in older adults over a 7‐year period despite high levels of physical activity, the study is published in Alzheimer’s & Dementia: The Journal of the Alzheimer’s Association.
